Description

Triethylamine is an organic compound, which is a tertiary amine that is ammonia in which each hydrogen atom is substituted by an ethyl group.
It appears as colorless oily liquid with a strong ammonia to fish-like odor.  It is irritating and toxic. It will be poisonous if swallowed by mistake, and will burn the skin. Its steam will strongly irritate the eyelids and mucous membranes. It will cause fire and explosion hazards when exposed to open flames, high temperatures, and strong oxidants. It is mainly used as solvent, curing agent, catalyst, polymerization inhibitor, preservative, and synthetic dyes.
